Neutralising
condensers (also called balancing condensers) were used to counter-act
the stray capacitances found between the grid and anode of a valve causing
unwanted reaction and instability. By introducing an anti-phase signal
back to the grid a negative reaction effect could be produced.
This Bulgin condenser
is designed for baseboard mounting and has nickel-silver contacts fitted
at the base.
